Break-in, theft incidents probed

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a burglary and theft incidents.

The break-in occurred at the home of Audrey Snyder, 61, of 72 Ashfield Rd., in East Penn Township. Troopers said forced entry was made to the home and taken was a large amount of U.S. currency. The incident occurred sometime between 4 and 6:40 p.m. on April 23.

Clarke Norman Gable, 68, of 7 Cornell Ave., Palmerton, reported someone removed a pistol and two long rifles from his residence, that were located in a gun cabinet in a spare bedroom. The incident occurred sometime between April 1 and Monday, April 30.

PPL Electric Utilities reported an illegal switch was placed on a meter at 557 Gilbert Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County.

The switch was capable of turning the meter on and off resulting in the theft of services. The incident was reported on April 26.
