Rentschler dealership renovates, expands

A new 4,500-square-foot building, upgrades to service and sales, and the addition of three new bays.

Count those among the impressive features that have been added as part of a renovation project recently completed at Rentschler Chevrolet Chrysler Jeep Dodge in SlatingtonGreg Rentschler, the third generation from the Rentschler family, said the project was necessary, as the original building was constructed in 1946."Many of our changes were overdue, but we only wanted to be under construction once, so we revamped just about everything," Rentschler said. "Our goal was to provide a better and more enjoyable customer experience."The new Rentschler Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge-Ram facility boasts an exterior view of the showroom and an impressive Arch with Chrysler's new Millennium branding with all new signs and four brands (Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram).Rentschler said the facility was constructed so that the business would be more easily recognized as a Chrysler Group LLC Dealership with the color schemes."We remodeled the interior of the showroom and left some of the heritage to remind our customers where we came from," he said. "We have all new sales stations, and even a F&I office for financing and warranty assistance."In addition, Rentschler said the dealership modernized its new service, parts, and waiting rooms."We wanted to create a better flow for customers to get through our dealership, which is now very simple," he said. "We expanded our parts department with double the amount of room to store parts and equipment. An all new customer service lounge gives our customers a quiet, comfortable waiting experience with HDTV, free Wi-Fi, free coffee, and also doubled the size. All areas have new ultra high efficient natural gas HVAC systems and energy efficient lighting."On top of that, Rentschler said the additional new three bays gives the dealership the ability to service more vehicles quicker and lift heavy trucks up to 15,000 pounds, as well as the ability to service all brands of vehicles and get customers in quicker at peak times."We are the only dealer in the area to have a 4-wheel Hunter Alignment rack," he said. "We are one of the few dealers who can perform warranty work on all Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram models."Fred Rentschler, co-owner, thanked Pencor Construction and Pencor Electric for their work, as well as the customers and friends of the dealership.David Jones, of Pencor Construction, said the feeling was mutual."It was a pleasure working here," Jones said. "We were glad to do the renovations."Greg Rentschler said the upgrades will only serve to further enhance customer service."We are unique as a dealership because we provide a hometown, small dealer feeling, but we are able to provide a large dealership inventory of vehicles and parts," he said. "We'd also like to thank all of the hard work of our employees, and for enduring the construction headaches of renovating while still in full operation."
