Man jailed for sexual assault
A Lehigh County man was jailed on Tuesday, March 27, after being arrested and charged with various counts of sexual assault.
State police at Fogelsville said Joshua Winston James, 22, of Wescosville, was arraigned on one count each of rape, sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault, indecent assault and harassment. He was unable to post $100,000 bail and was remanded to the county prison.
Troopers said a 16-year-old female from Allentown reported on March 1 she had been raped and sexually assaulted while a passenger in a vehicle with James which was parked off of Eagle Street near the intersection with Kart Drive, in Lower Macungie Township. The incident occurred between 7 and 8 p.m.
An investigation revealed that James did engage in unconsentual sex with the female, troopers said.
