Driver facing DUI after crash

A driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a crash in Carbon County. State police at Lehighton said the accident occurred about 2:07 a.m. on March 18 along 57 Road at Christman Rd., in Towamensing Township.

Troopers responded to the location and observed a vehicle attempting to leave the scene. A stop was made and the driver identified as Timothy W. Shultz, 37, of Kunkletown.

He was found to be under the influence. A PBT breath test was administered and it was positive for the presence of alcohol. Shultz was then placed under arrest for DUI, troopers said.
