CCTI holds 22nd Annual NTHS Induction

The Carbon Career and Technical Institute (CCTI) held its 22nd Annual Membership Induction and Installation Ceremony and Banquet for the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) at the school in Jim Thorpe on Tuesday evening.

NTHS is a honor society for outstanding career and technical students of workforce vocational education institutions in the United States.The NTHS began in 1984 as the National Vocational-Technical Honor Society. In 2003, the board of directors unanimously agreed to change the name of the organization to the National Technical Honor Society.Today, the National Technical Honor Society serves more than 2,500 member schools and universities throughout the nation.The mission of the NTHS is to honor student achievement and leadership, promote educational excellence, and enhance career opportunities for the NTHS membership.When addressing the assembly, CCTI Principal Brent Borzak said that "today's ceremony represents an accumulation of the enduring commitment that your sons and daughters put forth during the school year here at CCTI.""Our students tonight have earned this induction through their academic and vocational achievements along with their dedication to community service."After the Induction and Installation Ceremony, members of the National Technical Honor Society, family, friends and school officials enjoyed a banquet prepared by the school's Culinary Arts Department under the direction of their instructor Nadine Harbove who also serves as the NTHS Advisor.
