Lisa McLaughlin of Brodheadsville was one of the donors at the Western Pocono Lions Club sponsored blood drive held at Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville for Miller-Keystone Blood Center. Her gift of one unit of blood can impact three different people, explained Patti Serfass, Team Leader, at this drive. The blood can be separated in to red cells, plasma and platelets. The separation is done as to the needs of hospitals which utilize Miller Keystone, said Serfass, who serves as team leader at both blood drives and fixed sites. Tending McLaughlin, a B -negative blood type donor, is Kim Kovalovsky, collection specialist. Lisa says she's been donating a long time in order to help others. Next year her son anticipates giving as well since he'll be 17 by then.
