A vehicle stop led to the jailing of a Lackawanna County resident on outstanding warrants.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said a stop was made about 5:26 p.m. on Monday, March 19, along SR115 north of Caughbaugh Road, Monroe County.The driver gave several versions of a false name. It was later determined that the driver was Kristen A. Bender, 46, of Thornhurst. A further check revealed that Bender had two active warrants out of Monroe County Sheriff's Department for escape and driving under the influence (DUI).Bender was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a medical condition. She was later placed in the county prison in Snydersville on the outstanding warrants.Pocono police are going to file charges of false ID to law enforcement, driving under suspension-DUI related and numerous motor vehicle code violations and Bender incident to the vehicle stop.
