Elderly home help assistance program available in Carbon
Carbon County Action Committee for Human Services announces that there is an elderly home help assistance program available to residents.
The program provides in-home assistance to income eligible county residents, age 60 and older, who are disabled or recovering from a recent hospital stay or injury and have no one else available and/or capable of assisting with the care of their home or personal needs.
Services are provided for the purpose of ensuring safe and sanitary conditions and may include: light housekeeping; laundry assistance; and/or shopping assistance.
Carbon County residents who meet specific income guidelines and need-related requirements are eligible for the program. Program income eligibility guidelines are: $13,962 annual income for one person; $18,912 for a two-person household; $23,862 for three people; $28,812 for four people; $33,762 for five people. If more than five people in the household, gross annual income increases by $4,950 per person.
Some income exclusions may apply. Anyone in need of assistance or for more information, call the Carbon County Action Committee Office at (610) 377-6400, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Elderly home help assistance services are made possible through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development pass-through grants from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Community Services Block Grants.
