Dream Come True, Blue Ridge Chapter, is collecting new and gently-used prom and wedding dresses for its annual Blue Ridge Communications Prom and Wedding Dress Sale. The organization is also collecting accessories, including jewelry, purses, shawls and shoes.

Items can be dropped off at Blue Ridge Communications offices in Walnutport, Gilbert, Palmerton, Stroudsburg, Lansford and Lehighton. The deadline has been extended until March 21.

"Without the wonderful people in our community and their generosity, this event could not be possible," says organizer Julianne Farina.

"If you have a dress that you know you are never going to wear again or want to make some room in your closet, please think about donating it to our event. Your donation goes to an amazing cause.

"One-hundred percent of the proceeds go to Dream Come True, Blue Ridge Chapter. With your donation, you will help to grant a dream for a seriously, chronically, or terminally ill child."

The Prom and Wedding Dress Sale will take place from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe. Dress prices will start at $10 and everything will be cash only.
