Published March 19. 2012 05:02PM

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 1:15 a.m. on Friday, March 16, along SR54 at S. Catherine St., in Shenandoah.

State police at Frackville said a vehicle was observed traveling westbound when the operator made an abrupt swerve to the right nearly striking two parked vehicles. The driver then made a left turn onto S. Catherine St. and swerved to avoid striking another parked vehicle.

A traffic stop was made and the driver was identified as Efren Ramirez Arillano, 23, of Shenandoah. He was found to be under the influence and was transported to the barracks for a breath test.

He will be charged with DUI, troopers said.
