Schuylkill driver facing DUI count

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 11:57 a.m. on Monday, March 12, along SR125, just south of the Hess Service Station, in North Manheim Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Charles E. Kimmel Jr., 20, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu northbound when the vehicle left the road and struck a utility pole. After impact Kimmel continued to drive north with damage to the left rear fender and tire on the car.

Kimmel pulled off the road near the service station, troopers said. He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was then placed under arrest for DUI.
