Partners for Progress meets Friday; will discuss business survey

Published March 13. 2012 05:01PM

Dawn Ferrante, Carbon County Economic Development Director, will speak at the quarterly meeting of Partners for Progress.

The meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Lehigh Carbon Community College Campus in Nesquehoning.

Elissa Garofalo, president of Partners for Progress, said the organization is co-sponsoring a ground breaking survey that will be conducted in Carbon County.

For the first time in the County's history, businesses will be asked what services and support they need to grow and prosper in today's changing economy.

Partners for Progress conducted a similar study of County residents in 2008 and it helped shape the strategic direction for the organization for some years following the collection of that data.

Ferrante said, "We are looking to do the same thing with this survey, only for the business community. We intend to utilize the data to help formulate a strategy for a new, consolidated business organization that will be a one-stop-shop for county business needs."

Friday's meeting will be an overview of the study and what it hopes to accomplish.

The meeting is open to anyone interested in economic or business development in the county.
