An elderly East Penn Township resident was killed in a one-car crash Monday morning along West Lizard Creek Road (SR895) in the township. The victim was identified as Catello Berto, 84, of the North Side Heights section of the township. He was pronounced dead at the scene by deputy coroner Robert Miller Jr., who ruled the death accidental due to multiple trauma. The crash occurred about 10:45 a.m. as Berto was driving west and, for unknown reasons, apparently lost control. The car left the road on the right berm impacting with a stone wall. The roadway was closed for a period of time as the East Penn Township Police conducted their investigation.
