Break-ins, theft incidents probed
State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating burglaries and theft incidents at locations in Schuylkill County.
A break-in occurred at the home of Ronald and Deanna Dietz, 1325 E. Main St., Hegins Township. Entry was gained through an unlocked door. Removed from the home was a flat screen television, jewelry and other items.
The break-in occurred sometime between 8:50 and 11:40 a.m. on Sunday, March 11.
The home of Victoria Morgan, 27, of 113 Vaux Ave., Tremont, was entered sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 9. Entry was gained through the front door. Removed were several valuable items, troopers said.
A vacant property at 1239 Centre Turnpike (SR61), in West Brunswick Township, was entered sometime between Feb. 1 and March 7. Removed from the home was copper piping from various locations in the basement. The property is owned by Harry B. Crosswell, of Orwigsburg.
Troopers are investigating a theft incident at 75 Grove Road, in Eldred Township, the farm of Johannes R. Zinzendorf, 60, of Pitman. Unknown criminals removed 10 Rhode Island red hens from a chicken yard near the southwest corner of the property. They also removed one "Tom" turkey and one turkey hen from the same area.
The Rhode Island hens are valued at about $100; and the "Tom" Turkey at $100, and the turkey hen at $50.
John Lodish Jr., of 416 Dietrich Ave., Orwin, Porter Township, reported $300 in U.S. currency was removed from his vehicle while parked near his home. The entry occurred sometime between 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, and 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
Thomas A. Fisher, 57, of Pine Grove, reported his 2004 Toyota Tacoma had the catalytic converter removed while it was parked in a lot at the Ravine Exit of Interstate 81 in Tremont Township. The incident occurred sometime between 5:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday, March 9.
