A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash that occurred on Feb. 26 along SR940 near Harmony Beverage, in Kidder Township, Carbon County.

Township police said they responded to that location and found Theodore Spiryda, 66, of Blakeslee, seated in his vehicle that had crashed. He was found to be under the influence but refused to submit to a blood test, and will lose his license for a year for the refusal. Police said the DUI charge is pending.
