Schuylkill Township Woman injured in two vehicle accident

Published March 06. 2012 05:01PM

A Tamaqua woman was slightly injured in a two vehicle crash that occurred about 2:42 p.m. Monday along SR209 at the Schuylkill-Walker Township line in Schuylkill Township. State police at Frackville said Phyllis Paisley, 78, of Tamaqua, driving a 2000 Toyota Corolla, and Robert Watkins, 27, of Nesquehoning, operating a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck, were both southbound. Troopers said Watkins was stopped to make a left turn when Paisley failed to stop and struck the rear of the truck with the front of her Corolla. Paisley sustained a minor injury, troopers said, and was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, by Tamaqua ambulance. Watkins was not injured. Paisley was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed. Assisting troopers at the scene were volunteers from the Tuscarora and MaryD fire companies and Tamaqua Rescue Squad.
