Three arrested for theft incident
Three Schuylkill County residents were arrested and charged with the theft of a dragline engine block from a coal company site.
State police at Frackville identified the three suspects as Justin M. Marz, 22, of Cumbola, Jason Skripko, 27, of Pottsville, and James M. Bosefski, 34, of New Philadelphia.
Troopers said the three were charged with their part in the removing a V12 cylinder 1710 Cummins dragline engine block from a site off Eagle Hill Road, in East Norwegian Township. The property is owned by Kuperavage Coal Company of New Philadelphia.
Troopers said the engine block was stolen sometime between Feb. 9-12. Troopers said an investigation into the theft led to the charges against the three.
Marx is charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal trespass, all felonies, and driving with a suspended license. Skripko and Bosefski are charged with criminal conspiracy-theft and theft, both felonies, and a summary count of criminal trespass.
The three were arraigned before District Judge David Plachko, of Port Carbon. Bail for Marz was set at $50,000, 10 percent. He was unable to post the bail and was committed to the county prison in Pottsville.
Skripko and Bosefski had their bail set at $50,000 unsecured and were released.
