Library news

The Tamaqua Public Library is gearing up for spring with a variety of activities, including some spring cleaning.

Spring story time sessions are scheduled to begin March 12-13. Sessions are open to preschoolers, ages 2-6, and are held Mondays and Tuesdays, from 10-11 a.m. The weekly meetings will conclude the week of April 16.

For more information, or to register, call (570) 668-4660.

Thanks to the generosity of local book lovers, the library's shelves are overflowing with donated books. To make space for new arrivals, volunteers and staff members have been "cleaning" the shelves and are conducting an ongoing used book sale, just in time for March Madness. Additional items, such as VHS tapes, books on cassette and books on CD are also available.

The library is currently featuring the art work of Jeff Rimm of Tamaqua. Rimm's work includes photographs, watercolors and pen, ink and pencil artwork. The work depicts many local areas, such as the Tamaqua Train Station and locations in Rush Township.
