The completion of the solar project is finally nearing as Marrone Brothers agreed to make repairs to the data acquisition box and replace a shielded cable for the solar field they constructed for the Summit Hill Water Authority that is to supply the physical plant with electricity for the next several years.

The project was originally due to end last fall and its original deadline of August 31st has long past.

At the meeting it was announced that Water Authority Engineer Mike Tirpak and Solicitor Joe Velitsky met with Miller Brothers representatives Joe Marrone and Harry Miller on June 22nd to discuss the terms of completion of the project which included the repairs mentioned above. The original contract allowed the water authority to assess monetary damages if Miller Brothers failed to meet its deadline. After the repairs are made, Velitsky will meet with the Miller Brothers attorneys to assess the amount of damages this project will cost them for missing the deadline.

In other business, the board unanimously agreed to transfer $20,000 from the authority's checking account into its money market account and approved the delinquent shut off list for June 2012.

The authority will next meet on July 17th at 7 p.m.
