Man hurled through rear of pickup truck cap
A man was hurled through the truck cap glass of a pickup truck during an accident in Mahoning Township.
Mahoning Township Police said the accident happened at 11:35 p.m. on Friday, June 22, along Mill Road.
Police said Candace Tejera of Nesquehoning was traveling south on Mill Road at an apparent high rate of speed in a 1990 Jeep Comanche. She lost control of the vehicle in a curve, and crossed over the center of the roadway.
The vehicle went down an incline, through a row of trees, across a stream, and struck an embankment. She told police she dropped a cigarette, which apparently caused the accident.
A male passenger was in the bed of the truck at the time of the accident. He was thrown through the truck cap glass, and rear window glass into the front of the truck. There were three people in the vehicle, and all suffered injuries, police said.
Charges are pending against the driver.
