A Berks County motorcyclist was injured in an incident in Schuylkill County. State police at Frackville said the incident occurred about 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, along Mountain Road in Blythe Township.

Troopers said Jay R. Bossler, 52, of Fleetwood, was operating a 1999 Buell X1 Lightning bike southbound approaching the intersection with Tumbling Run Road. As Bossler made a lett hand turn another driver, who was stopped on Mountain Road facing north, waiting to turn onto Tumbling Run Road, cut in front of Bossler.

Bossler applied his brakes to avoid a collison which caused him to lose control. He went over the handle bars with the bike and him going off the road and down a 60-foot embankment. The other driver then fled the scene headed west towards Pottsville.

Bossler was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville.

A witness told troopers the other driver was a white male, in his late teens or early 20s, driving a older model silver in color Toyota or Mercury Cougar. There was no contact between the bike and the vehicle that fled the scene, troopers noted.
