Serious injuries in DUI-related crash

Published June 21. 2012 05:01PM

Two persons were seriously injured in a crash in which police said alcohol and a domestic dispute were factors.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash occurred about 12:11 a.m. on Friday, June 15, along SR209 (Grand Avenue), in Porter Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Shannon K. Housand, 31, of Tower City, was driving a 1996 Plymouth Breeze northbound at a high rate of speed due to a domestic incident that occurred between her and her passenger, Jason D. Sadler, 41, also of Tower City.

Housand lost control of the car which crossed over the southbound lane and onto the berm where it struck a tree with the front end.

Housand and Sadler sustained "major" injuries and were taken to the Hershey Medical Center, trooper said. Charges are pending.
