Breaker Boys rout Hazleton

The Panther Valley Breaker Boys defeated the Hazleton Trojans 53-19 in a Great Eastern Football Association game last week.

With the win, the Breaker Boys secured the No. 2 seed in the GEFA Valley Conference. They will host the No. 3 seeded Elizabethtown Mustangs on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Summit Hill.Against Hazleton, quarterback Craig Zurn once again put up some huge numbers. Zurn passed for 62 yards and four touchdowns and also rushed for 100 yards and three more TDs.Jesse Lincovich and Shawn Nunemacher both caught a pair of touchdown passes n the game. Lincovich caught strikes of three and 26 yards from Zurn. Nunemacher, who finished with a league-high 16 TD receptions this season, caught a six-yard pass from Zurn and 12-yard pass from back-up quarterback Scott Reese. Brandon Heffelfinger also caught a five-yard TD pass for the Breaker Boys while Dave Boyle added a pair of two-point conversions.Defensively, Tony Stoeckel lead the Breaker Boys with six tackles, including a sack, and Marcos Perez chipped in five tackles. Boyle tied a Panther Valley record with three interceptions in the game, bringing his season total to five.
