Break-in, theft incidents probed

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a burglary and theft incidents.

The break-in occurred at the Shop Quik Sunoco, located in Ross Township, Monroe County. Troopers said entry was gained sometime around 1:58 a.m. on June 12. Taken was cigarettes valued at $1,200. There was also $1,000 in damages to the property.

Matthew Rahn, of Main St., Parryville, reported someone removed prescription medication valued at $25 and a compact disc case containing 60 CDs valued at $200 from his vehicle while parked near his home. The theft occurred sometime between June 10 at 11 p.m. and June 11 at 2 p.m.

James Johnson, 75, of 3064 Pleasant View Drive, Kunkletown, Monroe County, reported someone stole two concrete lions (yard ornaments) and one concrete hat (part of a yard ornament) from his front yard. The theft occurred sometime overnight of June 13-14.

Robert Bruce Schmidt, 66, of 295 Memorial Drive, Kunkletown, Polk Township, Monroe County, reported someone removed mail from his mailbox. The incident occurred sometime between 1 and 6 p.m. on June 14.

Elmer Heissam, 83, of 485 Burger Hollow Road, in Kunkletown, Polk Township, reported someone damaged his mailbox. The incident occurred during the overnight hours of June16-17.
