Man jailed in gun pointing incident

Published June 18. 2012 05:03PM

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Friday following a gun pointing incident. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred about 7:20 p.m. at Go Go Rama, located a 670 Rock Rd., in Washington Township.

Troopers said Robert John Papp, 48, and Melissa Anne Slone, 23, both of Pine Grove, got into a verbal argument inside their residence. The argument then escalated with Slone alleging that Papp picked up a 9mm handgun and pointed it at her threatening to shoot her if she didn't leave.

Troopers said Papp was taken into custody and charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and terroristic threats. He was arraigned by on-call District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville in lieu of $100,000 straight cash bail.
