A fugitive from Georgia was apprehended on Wednesday in Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville, along with the U.S. Marshals Violent Crimes Task Force, received information that Ricky Knight, 33, of Atlanta, was staying at the Super 8 Motel, at 2160 Golden Key Rd., in Weisenburg Township.

Knight is wanted in Georgia for aggravated assault with a firearm, cruelty to children, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and resisting arrest. Troopers and marshals took Knight into custody about 10:45 p.m. In the motel room with Knight was Alexander Hampton, 35, of Henrico, Va. Troopers said Hampton was arrested after he resisted and interfered with officers making an arrest.

Knight was committed to the county prison in Allentown in lieu of $50,000 bail. Hampton was also committed to the prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
