Summer Day Camp ready to kick off in Jim Thorpe

The Jim Thorpe Summer Recreation Program, a summer day camp at Memorial Park for children who reside in the Jim Thorpe Area School District, begins Monday, June 18.
Coordinated by the Jim Thorpe Rotary Club, the program is for children currently in grades second through sixth. There is no cost to the students.
This is the 15th year for this program which runs from June 18th to August 10th, Monday through Friday.
The morning session is from 9 a.m. to noon and the afternoon session runs from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Children attending all day must bring a lunch which will be supervised.
All children must sign in and out daily and campers may attend any or all sessions.
The program features activities such as arts, crafts, sports, games, and fun, plus weekly "specials."
Each Wednesday, there will be a trip to The Mauch Chunk Lake Park.
A bus will transport the campers from Memorial Park to the lake at 10 a.m.
There will be no program on July 4th, 5th, 6th, and 9th.
