When these two members of the Chestnuthill Township Historical Society were cleaning up around the township-owned Merwinsburg Hotel, they came across a swarm of bees in a tree. Bees swarm when a hive gets overcrowded. They will find a place to wait, such as this tree, as scouts go out looking for a permanent home. During this time they are non-aggressive because they do not have a nest to protect.
