State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following crashes on Schuylkill County roads investigated by troopers over the past weekend.

A crash occurred about 3:04 p.m. on Friday, June 1, along Helfenstein Road, in Eldred Township. Troopers said a 17-year-old male from Coal Township, Northumberland County, was operating a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt westbound and attempted to negotiate a curve in the road. The teen lost control of the car which partially entered the eastbound lane. The teen then counter-steered back into the westbound lane, went onto the berm and hit an embankment. Upon impact the Cobalt traveled back into the westbound lane, flipped onto its roof, and came to rest.

The teen driver and a 18-year-old passenger, also from Coal Township, sustained major injuries and were taken to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Another passenger, a 18-year-old from Catawissa, Northumberland County, had a minor injury.

Troopers said the teen was cited for careless driving.

Troopers probed a crash about 5:19 p.m. Friday along Sweet Arrow Lake Road, in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Courtney E. Gerber, 20, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck westbound when it began to fist-tail while she attempted to negotiate a left hand curve. The truck rotated about 180-degrees traveling broadside across both lanes and collided with a eastbound 1997 Saturn SC2 driven by Johnathon M. Beck, 21, of Pine Grove.

After impact the Saturn left the road and struck the corner of the Paradise Pub building. The truck continued to fish-tail after impact for a distance before coming to rest along the berm.

Neither driver was injured. A passenger with Beck, Russell D. Lymaster, 22, also of Pine Grove, was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St.

Troopers cited Gerber for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 7:19 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, along Bridge St., in Tremont. Troopers said Robert D. Klouser Jr., no age given, of Tremont, was driving a 1994 Ford Ranger pickup truck southbound when he failed to negotiate a right curve. The truck rotated clockwise about 180-degrees and then rolled onto the passenger side, coming to rest against the guardrail.

Klouser fled the scene on foot but was apprehended a short time later along Laurel St., in Tremont. He showed signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). He was taken to SMC-S. Jackson St., for a blood test.

The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.
