Lansford woman picked up on felony warrant
Lansford police have nabbed a woman wanted on felony retail theft charges.
Holly Filer, 27, whose last known address was 219 W. Water St., Lansford, was picked up on a felony warrant for retail theft on Thursday evening with the assistance of Lehighton police. Lansford Officers Jason Helmer and Joshua Tom received a tip at 8:54 p.m. that Filer was staying at the Mahoning Court with her husband.
Lehighton police Officer Matt Bender went to the motel and confirmed Filer was there. She was arrested and taken to Carbon County Prison, Nesquehoning.
Lansford police had received numerous tips over the past few weeks that she was back in the area after returning from Florida.
The charges against Filer stem from an incident which took place on June 25, 2011 at 8:17 p.m. at Boyer's Market. Charges were filed by Officer Amie Barclay.
Filer allegedly took five items totaling $22.64 from the market and hid them in a baby stroller. Filer's three prior convictions for retail theft triggered the felony status.
