Schuylkill bank robbed

A Schuylkill County bank was robbed late Wednesday morning.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the robbery occurred at the Miners Bank branch office at 29 E. Main St., in Tremont.

Troopers said about 11:35 a.m. a black male entered the bank and demanded money from the tellers. He did not display a weapon.

After he obtained cash the robber left the bank and walked south across Main Street and walked between houses to an alley that runs parallel for SR209 and Good Springs Road and Union Street. He then got into a dark colored vehicle operated by another black male.

The robber was described as being six-feet, two-inches tall, medium build, 30-35 years of age, scruffy facial hair, wearing a dark baseball hat, black shirt and black jeans.

No injuries were reported in the incident and the amount of cash taken was not released by police.
