Man jailed for assault, threats

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on charges of assault and threats.

State police at Frackville said on Wednesday, May 23, about 5:30 p.m. along Interstate 81 in Delano Township, Patricia Mistishin and Christopher John Cuozzo, both of Port Carbon, became involved in a physical altercation. During the altercation it is alleged that Cuozzo struck and choked Mistishin and pulled out a knife and threatened to kill her.

Cuozzo was taken into custody and charged with two counts each of simple assault and terroristic threats and one count of harassment. He was arraigned by video at the county jail in Pottsville by on-call District Judge James Ferrier, of Orwigsburg.

He was committed to the prison after failing to post $25,000 bail set by Ferrier.
