'Light the Town Purple' event in Tamaqua

The ACS Relay For Life of Tamaqua and Surrounding Communities will be having their 4th annual "Light the Town Purple" event in Tamaqua on Sunday starting at 8 p.m. in front of the train station, 18 North Railroad Street. The event, which is being held on Cancer Survivor's Day, consists of a free ice cream social in front of the station. Afterwards, at 9 p.m., the Depot Square Park fountain, located at the intersection of SR209 and SR309, will be lit with purple lights along with a brief ceremony to help promote the upcoming ACS Relay For Life walk to be held at the Panther Valley football stadium on June 22 and 23.
