The Lansford Pool will remain closed this summer as officials work to resolve leaks and other issues that led to the pool closing last year. But, that doesn't mean longtime pool patrons will have nowhere to go to cool off when the heat rises.

Just as they did last year, Tamaqua Borough officials have extended a helping hand, agreeing to accept Lansford pool passes for use at the Bungalow Pool in Howard D. Buehler Memorial Park.Lansford pool passes will be available for purchase on April 10, 11, 12 and 13, at 1 W. Ridge St., Lansford. Rates will remain the same as last year: $55 for a single tag; $105 for a family of two, with additional family member tags at $30 each ($130 for a family of three); and $30 for those age 60 and older. Checks should be made payable to Tamaqua Borough.Purchasing a pool pass before April 28 will guarantee patrons have their tags before opening day, which is 11:30 a.m. June 2. No passes will be sold that day.
