Four persons were injured, two of which had to be lifeflighted, in a two-vehicle collision in Schuylkill County. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash occurred about 2:51 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, at the intersection of SR443 and N. Greenview Road, in North Manheim Township.

Troopers said Mason A. White, 16, of Ashland, was southbound on Greenview operating a 2002 Mitsubishi and approaching the intersection, while Derek L. Hartranft, 24, of New Ringgold, driving a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 truck, was on 443 approaching the intersection.

Troopers said White failed to stop or yield and entered the intersection when his vehicle was struck broadside by Hartranft's truck. After impact the Mitsubishi traveled down an embankment along the south berm. After impact the Chevrolet spun about 90-degrees clockwise coming to rest 30 feet from the initial point of impact.

White and his passenger, Monty L. Maser, 33, of Alburtis, were flown by Lifeflight helicopter to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, with what troopers termed were major injuries.

Hartranft and his passenger, Megan E. Dove, 22, of New Ringgold, were reportedly taken to a Pottsville area hospital.

Troopers said White will be cited for duty at stop signs.
