A Schuylkill County husband and wife were jailed on Wednesday, charged with stealing money from a relative.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Nicole Frantz, 28, and Richard Frantz, 32, of Lake Wynonah, Auburn, have been charged with forgery, theft and related counts.

The two were arraigned before District Judge James Ferrier of Orwigsburg, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $20,000 bail each.

According to troopers the two allegedly stole thousands of dollars from the bank account of Julia Jackson, 78, who resided with the defendants. Mrs. Jackson is Nicole Frantz's grandmother, troopers said.

The thefts occurred during the period of August 2011 through January.
