Two vehicle crash probed in Monroe

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a two vehicle crash about 1:45 p.m. on July 19 along SR209 in Polk Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said John J. McKay, 69, of Mehoopany, Wyoming County, operating a 2009 Subaru, and Larry T. Chen, 63, of Marlboro, N.J., driving a 2008 Acura, were southbound when Chen came to a stop for traffic awaiting to merge onto Hideaway Hills Road. McKay failed to stop and the front of his vehicle struck the rear of Chen's.

No one was injured. Troopers cited McKay for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Troopers also reported on a one vehicle crash that occurred about 5:45 p.m. on Friday, July 20, along Stoney Ridge Road near Forest Inn Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Kristen M. Roberts, 21, of Palmerton, was driving a 2005 Jeep Liberty northbound when she lost control. The Jeep left the road and struck a tree along the berm. No one was injured.
