Published July 20. 2012 06:04PM

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks are investigating a quick change scam in which a man decepted an employee at the Kohl's store and made off with extra change the employee gave him.

The incident happened at 8:30 p.m. July 16 at the store, which is located in the Fairlane Village Mall in Norwegian Township, near Pottsville.

Police said the man purchased a $3.95 bag of Godiva chocolates by paying for it with a $50 bill. When he received his change from the cashier, the man quickly exchanged two $20 bills for one dollar bills and told the cashier she had short-changed him. The cashier proceeded to exchange the ones for twenties, at which point the man fled the scene.
