Tamaqua Blue 9-10 stays unbeaten

Tamaqua Blue stayed undefeated (6-0) in the 9 & 10 Panther Valley Tournament with a 5-1 win over Jim Thorpe Blue. Tamaqua Blue plays its last game on Friday night at 6 p.m. at Lansford where with a win it can wrap up the 9 & 10 year old PV Tournament Title.

Tamaqua Blue-Jim Thorpe BlueJim Thorpe Blue stayed on top of Tamaqua Blue for the first two innings, but Tamaqua scored five runs in the next three innings and held JT scoreless to come away with the 5-1 victory.Emily Titus got the ball rolling for Tamaqua Blue with a 2-run double in the third inning. Dante Agosti, Luke Van Buskirk, and Caleb Sell also contributed hits for Tamaqua Blue.Michael Minchhoff pitched a nice game on the hill for Tamaqua and took home the win.For Jim Thorpe Joe Kamienicki and Sebastian Rodriguez each had two hits a piece.Towamensing-Tamaqua WhiteTowamensing defeated Tamaqua White by a score of 9-5.The Yankees Brock Bollinger has four hits, Blake Eitner added three hits, and Colby Kunkle and Justin Behler each added two hits a piece to help Towamesning get the win.Colby Kunkle got the win on the mound for Towamensing.For Tamaqua Tate Ligenza had two hits.West Hazleton7-8 TourneyAnthracite-West HazletonAnthracite defeated host West Hazleton, 19-13, in the West Hazleton 7-8 year-old Little League Tournament.Jonathan Byers, Matt Rehrig, Mike Pascoe, Matt Maholick, Josh Faenza, Eddie Farber and Richard Zebroski all had multiple-hit games for Anthracite. Byers had five RBIs while Rehrig and Pascoe knocked in three runs each. Farber added a home run.Anthracite-HazletonAnthracite picked up an 8-3 victory over Hazleton in the West Hazleton 7-8 year-old Little League Tournament.Matt Maholick had a nice day on the mound and at the plate to lead Anthracite. Maholick went the distance to pick up the victory, striking out four. He also added two hits and drove in a run.Eddie Farber added a single and two RBIs for Anthracite while Michael Pascoe, Jonathan Byers, Eddie Evans and Kyle Binder all had RBI singles.
