A new industry in Lansford will employ about 100 people, according to a report from the Panther Valley Chamber of Commerce. Sheila Ann Sportswear Inc., which is hiring operators of all types for year-round employment, has located at Coal and Bertsch Streets, a building formerly occupied by Lansford Casuals. Edward Michalik of Summit Hill said that 20 women are presently employed and that the firm plans to fill about 80 more jobs. Jerry Schleppy of Bethlehem is manager of the plant while Mrs. Margaret Halko of Lansford is supervisor.
