Risking a catastrophe

Published July 19. 2012 09:14AM

A Monroe County man has been charged with causing or risking a catastrophe and harassment following an incident that occurred about 2:45 p.m. on July 2 at 566 Blue Ridge Road, in Saylorsburg, Ross Township.

Troopers said Richard John Stefanovic, 64, of Saylorsburg, allegedly pushed Charles Frederick Shaver Jr., of Saylorsburg, to the ground and potentially caused or risked a catastrophe by opening up a propane gas tank releasing the gas into the air next to a propane gas truck which was full of numerous other propane gas tanks recklessly endangering Shaver and Lee David Fink Jr., of Albrightsville, who was also in the immediate area.
