Trinity happenings

The 2012 ELCA Youth Gathering "Citizens with the Saints" is happening in New Orleans, La., this week Wednesday, July 18-22.

A group of 11 teenagers and six adult chaperones are taking part representing Trinity Lutheran Church, Third and Iron streets, Lehighton.

The Rev. Robert von Frisch is one of the chaperones.

The schedule for the live "Mass Gatherings" at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome are from 8-9:30 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday and the closing service is Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Approximately 40,000 are expected to attend, 687 from Northeastern PA synod. Tune in and see if you can spot some familiar faces.

Each broadcast will feature insightful speakers and dynamic musicians.

Sunday worship service at Trinity is 9 a.m., with guest preacher, Rev. John F. Hazel, Jr. Coffee Haus fellowship follows in the parish hall.

Beltzville Lions to meet

Beltzville Lions will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 23, at the pavilion at People's E.C. Church for a covered dish dinner.

All members are encouraged to attend and bring a friend or family member.

Lehighton Crime Watch to meet

Lehighton Crime Watch will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, at Lehighton Area High School. The group plans to meet at 6:30 p.m. each fourth Tuesday of the month. Programs are planned each month.

LALLC meets Aug. 2

Lehighton Area Lioness Lions club will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at the home of Pat Whitehead, 463 Indian Hill Road, Lehighton, across from Walkers Tree Farm.

Lions are reminded to bring a covered dish and invite a guess or family member to attend.
