Palmerton Library summer reading

Our summer reading adventure continues this week with a trip to the Palmerton Area Library, where the librarians there are excited to share their favorite books with area students.

The grade level and recommended books are

First to third grade: Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak; Ivy and Bean by Annie Barrows; and Charlotte's Web by E.B. White.

Fourth to seventh grade: Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney; Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo; and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis.

Eighth to 12th grade: Animal Farm by George Orwell; The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne; and Outsider by S.E. Henton

The library's hours during the months of July and August are 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays; 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The library is closed on Sundays.
