Carbon man gets probation for false ID to law enforcement

A Palmerton man pleaded guilty to giving false identification to West Penn Township police and was sentenced in Schuylkill County court.

Douglas James Ahner, 30, of 710 Club Road, was sentenced by Judge John E. Domalakes to serve 12 months on probation, releasing him from the Schuylkill County prison where he had spent five days after being picked up on a bench warrant.

Ahner pleaded guilt to giving a false identification to Patrolman Dale Osenbach when stopped on Dec. 18, 2010, at the Tamaqua Plaza. The bench warrant was dissolved after his sentence.

He also was ordered to pay $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, pay a $50 monthly supervision fee, and perform 20 hours of community service. On a second charge of driving while his operating privileges were suspended was fined $200 plus $50 costs.

Judge Domalakes also sentenced Crystle Catherine Craig, 26, Pottsville, who pleaded guilty to driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and drugs, to serve six months in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) with the first 10 days to be served in the county prison beginning Monday, July 16, at 9 a.m, followed by 40 days under home arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $12 daily fee, and the remainder under regular probation. She was also fined $750, pay $100 to the MCARE fund, $100 to the Substance Abuse Eduction fund, make restitution of $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, enroll and complete the alcohol highway safety school, pay a $50 monthly supervision fee, and perform 20 hours of community service. Craig was cited by Minersville Patrolman Jason A. Klouser, last Nov. 24.

Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin sentenced Jeffrey Leon Alexander, 43, an inmate at the state correctional facility in Mahanoy Township. He had entered a plea of guilty last April 4 to a charge of indecent exposure while in a counseling room with a psychiatrist. He received a sentence to one to two years to run concurrent with a sentence he is now serving and ordered to engage in all counseling that may be required.
