Class reunions

Jim Thorpe Area High School Class of 1972 will hold a meeting on Thursday, July 12, at the home of Mary McElmoyle at 7 p.m.

The reunion for the classes of 1955-1965, Jim Thorpe High School will be held on Sept. 29. Reservations must be made by Aug. 1. The reunion will be held at Whispering Pines, Route 903, Penn Forest Fire Company.

Accepting reservation is chairman Alvin Sellers, 158 N. 11th St., Lehighton, Pa. 18235. If you have any questions, you may contact Sellers.

The next meeting of the planning committee will be Tuesday, July 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the district administration building, Centre Ave.

Clothing drive

St. John's Lutheran Church, South Ave., has begun collecting clothing for the annual clothing collection/give away project.

The church will be accepting the clothing from today until Friday, Aug. 10. Collection times are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wednesday evenings, 6 to 8 p.m. The give away will be Thursday, Aug. 2 to Saturday, Aug. 18. Hours will be announced later.

Touchdown Club meeting

The next monthly Touchdown Club meeting is Monday, July 9 at 6 p.m. at the Jim Thorpe Area High School commons area. On the agenda is the upcoming football program advertising sales, as well as other fundraisers.

The Touchdown Club is the fundraising booster club for the Jim Thorpe high school football program serving children from seventh to 12 grade. If you have a child interested in playing football or plays football, please try and come. All are welcome.
