Summer fun at the Palmerton Area Library

Kids of all ages do not have to be bored this summer because the Palmerton Area Library has something for everyone.

Watercolor painting classes are offered two days a week. Call the teacher at 610-824-4962 for more information.

Teen Advisory Group for teens in grades 5-12 welcome new members. The teens are painting and remodeling the new teen area in the basement. Call the library and ask for Mariann for details.

Summer reading is being held and they want you to Dream Big READ! Preschool Circle Time (ages 3-5) has stories, music and more on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. until July 26.

Summer Reading Club (grades K-6) has stories, games, crafts and more on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. until July 27

Read Across the Sky campaign is going on now. Adults, teens and kids, sign up for the "Star Chain" contest and compete in your age group for fun prizes. This is free and open to all.

Music Together with Rachel will be held for six weeks on Mondays beginning in July 10 a.m. at the library. These are classes for parents and young children in dance, rhythm instruments and songs. Call 1-570-483-8640 for more info.

There will be Cupcake Decorating Classes on Saturdays and Tuesdays in July. Call the library to sign up now because class size is limited.

The Annual Fund Drive is going on now. Show your support for the Palmerton Area Library by making a donation today.

Knitting Club meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 6-8 p.m. It is free and open to anyone interested in knitting and crocheting of all skill levels. The club meets all summer long.

Yoga Classes are offered every Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Call the teacher at 570-436-1762 for more information or stop in on Saturday morning.

Library board of directors meets the third Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m. Meetings are open to the public.

Friends of the Palmerton Area Library meet four times a year. Next meeting will be Tuesday, July 10 at 7 p.m.

Summer Computer Classes were in such high demand that more classes have been added for July and August, as well as new classes in Word, Power Point and Excel. Class size is limited.

The Palmerton Area Library basement book sale is open regular library hours. New books arrive on a weekly basis as well as movies, puzzles and CD's. They are priced to sell. Volunteers are always needed to sort and place books on shelves.
