A Carbon County teen was killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash that occurred about 10:43 a.m. on Thursday along SR940 in Kidder Township.

Kidder Township police identified the victim as Ariel Bisono, 17, of 49 Driftwood Drive, Blakeslee, Kidder Township.

Police said Bisono was traveling westbound when her 2000 Nissan Xterra entered the eastbound lane and collided head-on into a 2002 Cadillac Escalade driven by Richard Synder, 42, of Philadelphia.

Synder was extricated from his vehicle and flown by Pennstar helicopter to St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. Police said his condition is unknown.

Assisting police at the scene were ambulance personnel from Lake Harmony, Tobyhanna and Lehighton, and volunteers from Lake Harmony, Albrightsville and Kidder Township fire companies.
