Arrest made in theft incident

State police at Frackville said a Berks County man has been charged with theft of a large amount of cash from a Tamaqua area resident.

Troopers said Curtis L. Dunn, 22, of the 100 block of Gravel Pit Rd., Bethel, has been charged with theft by unlawful taking, as a misdemeanor one.

Troopers said on Aug. 29 Carl E. Felty, 47, of 881 Catawissa Rd., Tamaqua, Walker Township, reported $2,000 in cash was missing from his residence. The theft occurred sometime between Aug. 26-29.

An investigation led to Dunn, who was interviewed by troopers and admittted taking the cash.

The theft was first reported to township police but was then reassigned to state police upon the dissolution of the township police department, troopers said..
