Facing conduct charges in Thorpe
Three borough residents have been charged by Jim Thorpe police following separate incidents.
On Wednesday, May 2, about 1:23 a.m. police were dispatched to 81 Broadway for a possible domestic incident. On scene police were informed by Kevin Patrick Toomey that his girlfriend, Mary Margarete Sell, 30, of 2A Acorn Court, walked up the street while he was talking to a friend and began to argue with him. Several minutes later Sell allegedly threw beer bottles out th window of their apartment, Toomey said. Toomey then took police to the front of the apartment and showed them the smashed beer bottles on the sidewalk. Police questioned Sell, who denied throwing the bottles. She was charged with disorderly conduct, police said.
On Saturday, June 23, about 11:49 p.m. officers were dispatched to 35 W. Seventh St. for a domestic incident in progress. Upon arrival officers were informed that Joshua R. Lienhard, 28, and Jamie L. Ruggiero, 36, both that address, were arguing so loud it woke up the neighbors. Police knocked on the door but neither Leinhard or Ruggiero would answer the door.
Police said both were cited for disorderly conduct.
On Monday, June 25, about 5:48 p.m. officers were dispatched to 305 Oak St., for a report of a intoxicated male yelling at children. While in route police learned the suspect, identified as Richard J. Hartman, 37, of Ceder Ave., was at 21 W. Third St.
Police made contact with Hartman, who was manifestly under the influence. When initially asked what happened at the Oak St. address, Hartman said he did not know, but then admitted that he "had words" with some kids.
Upon further investigation police were advised by the parents of the children, ages 12 and 13, that Hartman yelled at them while being a passenger in a vehicle which was driven on North St. Hartman then went to the children's residence and exited the vehicle and approached them. He left when confronted by the father on the children.
Police said Hartman was cited for public drunkenness.
