Carbon woman victim of theft

A Carbon County woman is the victim of a theft incident that occurred in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Catherine Jean Green, 22, of Lansford, reported the theft of five diamond rings, a pair of earrings, and $30 in cash were removed from her backpack. The rings are value at about $120 each and the earrings at $40.

Troopers said the theft occurred at 2 Fourth St., Kline Township, sometime between 5 am. and 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4.

Troopers are also investigating a criminal mischief incident that occurred at 89 Laurel Rd., in East Brunswick Township. Troopers said unknown persons cut an engine wire to the vehicle of Shirley R. DeLong, of New Ringgold, while parked in the driveway of her home. The incident occurred sometime between June 28 at 6 p.m. and June 29 at 2 p.m.
